Hello, friends – happy Monday! I am SO excited about today’s post because it is my first ever home decor post, which is a category that I have been wanting to share here on FoF for such a long time! As many of you know, Drew & I just moved into our home together a few months ago, and decorating it has been one of my favorite things to do ever since we finished unpacking. We moved in at the perfect time – just in time for me to decorate for fall and now for Christmas! Today I’m excited to share with you all our mantle & fireplace, which is one of my favorite areas in our living room.
When decorating, I knew I wanted to keep things classic and traditional – I don’t know why, but I always gravitate towards more classic decorations this time of year Our tree is all red & gold, and our Christmas lights outside are all white (I’ll be sharing how I decorated our porch for the holidays here on FoF later this week!). For our mantle, I decided to do a traditional flocked garland. When I was shopping for it, I was shocked at how expensive garland was… thankfully I found this one at Walmart for only about $15! It says it is sold out online, but I bet you can still find it in stores. To spruce things up a little bit, I weaved in my own holiday lights and added a few pine-cones & berries that I picked up from Hobby Lobby. Simple and so festive! We decided to go with mini-stockings this year because I am still in the process of making custom stockings for Miles & Drew, but I know that I won’t have them finished in time this year. For above the mantle, we decided to put a fresh pine wreath (complete with a red bow!) to complete the look. I just can’t wait until it is cold enough for us to light a fire in that fireplace to make things extra cozy!
ALSO I have to point out these pajama pants that I am wearing! I love getting fun and festive pajamas for the holidays, and this pair features little pups wearing holiday sweaters! Literally the cutest thing ever & only like $15.
Thanks for stopping by!
