Shop The Look:
Fall….where are you?! I can’t even believe that the first day of fall is next week already – it’s still 95 degrees outside here! Yesterday evening my mom and I were walking my dogs and we saw a few houses that already have Halloween decorations up. I love Halloween (and all of October for that matter) so much but it’s hard to feel in the “spirit” when it’s still so warm out! Hopefully it will cool off soon & the leaves will start changing colors so I won’t feel guilty about putting some pumpkins out on the porch!
Today’s look is one that I’ve been wearing quite a bit recently – this duster cardigan is so lightweight that it is truly the perfect transition piece (and is less than $25!). This is the first “duster” cardigan that I have purchased, and I think I may invest in a few more! I actually love the length and I think it would look amazing no matter your height. Just pair it with a simple tank and some ankle boots (or OTK boots like this $49 pair that I wore in Monday’s post!) and you are good to go. I also love the olive green color – I think I’ve gone a little olive-green crazy for this fall because I keep wanting to buy everything in that color! It just looks so chic when paired with cognac accessories like this handbag.
Also as I’m sure you’ve noticed…. I got a haircut! With a new season approaching I was ready for a change, so last weekend I chopped off about 6 inches of my hair. I also got my balayage refreshed (read more about balayage in this post) and this time we decided to do a few highlights on the top layer of my hair. If you know me at all, you know that I HATE haircuts & I’ve actually had long hair since I was in high school, so this was a big step for me… but so far I am LOVING it! It feels so lightweight and fresh and I’m kind of wishing I had done it sooner. I got my hair done by Pele at the Cutting Room Salon in Austin – she is amazing and I highly recommend!
