One of my favorite parts about taking a road trip is that you never know what you might come across along the way! When Drew and I were on our California road trip a few weeks ago, I saw on the map that we would pass through San Luis Obispo (which is about halfway between the southern edge of Big Sur and Santa Barbara) but I didn’t really have any particular plans for us to stop there. We ended up going through SLO around lunchtime so we decided to stop and I was so pleasantly surprised by how charming this town was! San Luis Obispo is considered by many as the northern most part of “Southern California” and it was so funny because as soon as we entered the city,…there were palm trees everywhere! It’s as if the foliage itself was saying “Hi! Welcome to SoCal!”.
After eating lunch in the “downtown” area (it’s so funny to me to call it a downtown because it is so quaint and not at all what I typically think of when saying “downtown”), we got some ice cream from Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab (a must do!) and walked over to the Mission (where these photos were taken). It was just the most charming city with mountains in the backdrop, palm trees everywhere, and a perfect place to stop off when road tripping up/down the California coast!
On that day, I wore a colorful tank (the stripes is sold out but I love this tank in this print or these solid colors!), jeans, and my go-to Keds tennis shoes. I seriously wear these shoes all the time (not sure if that makes me a little kid or an old lady… but either way I love them!). They are perfect for traveling because they are lightweight, comfortable, and look a little more put-together (in my opinion) than a typical sneaker. I also love a good pop of white in my outfits!
Thanks for stopping by!
