Happy Thursday – I cannot tell you how happy I am that it is almost the weekend! The first week returning to work/ “the real world” after a vacation is always so tough, and this week has been no exception. I’m so excited to share today’s post with you, however, because it allows me to go back in time about a week to when Drew and I visited Pebble Beach on our California Road Trip (#FOFxPCH)!
Pebble Beach is located on the Monterey Peninsula in northern California, about two hours south of San Francisco. It is home to the famous Pebble Beach Golf Course, and it sits along what is called the “17 Mile Drive,” which is a (you guessed it) 17 mile loop that has some beautiful scenery as well as beautiful homes. There is a $10 entrance fee per car, and they give you a map that has 21 stops that you can make along the drive. We visited on our first day of the road trip right around sunset which was the perfect time in my opinion. Before visiting, I read on several other travel blogs that people spend 2-3 hours making the drive and checking out all of the stops, but Drew and I did it in about 1 hour and we took our time (we didn’t stop at every stop, only the ones that looked good to us! Probably about 2/3 of the stops). My favorite of the stops was the one where we snapped these photos, because the rocky beaches were so cool looking! We climbed a few of the rocks while watching the sun set and had such a great time. I wore this coral off the shoulder top (also available in 4 other colors!), jeans, and these sandals. My sandals actually got caught in the rocks a few times because obviously…sandals don’t make great rock climbing shoes 🙂
We enjoyed visiting the 17 Mile Drive and Pebble Beach but I definitely don’t think it is a “must-do” or “must-see” if you are in the area (although if you have the time, do check it out!). I honestly thought the drive along the PCH from San Francisco down to Pebble Beach was just as pretty as the 17 Mile Drive (and it was free!), but it was cool to see the famous 18th hole on the golf course as well as the Lone Cypress Tree. I think that if I am ever in the area again, though, I would skip the 17 Mile Drive and spend all of my time in Carmel-by-the-Sea (where we ate dinner that night). It was literally the cutest town right on the beach and looked like it was right out of a story book!
Thanks for stopping by! Have you ever been to Pebble Beach or Carmel-by-the-Sea?
