Happy Monday – I hope everyone had a great weekend! It was rainy here all of last week and the temperatures have dropped to 85 degrees… it’s starting to feel like fall! At least fall in Texas – haha! I’m already ready to start burning fall candles (Leaves is the best!) & I can’t wait for when the temperatures drop enough to actually need to wear a jacket when walking my dogs in the mornings. I’ve always loved cold weather the best, so it can’t’ get here soon enough!
With there still being about one more month left until fall officially begins, though, I’m excited to share today’s look which is perfect for these last few weeks of summer or even for a beach getaway. I wore this look when Drew & I were on our California road trip a few weeks ago, and it was so perfect for Santa Barbara. SB was one of my favorite places we stayed – the palm trees and beach set against the mountains in the background was simply stunning. Our hotel was just a couple of blocks away from the beach, so I wore this look for walking along the boardwalk and for grabbing a drink on the Pier while watching all of the stand-up paddle boarders in the bay. I have this tank in three colors (I wore the white one here, the pink one here, and the striped one here), and it has become my go-to top. I love it because you can keep it simple with jeans or jean shorts (like I did here), or make it a little more dressy with a skirt and heels. I’m always throwing on a cardigan or sweater on top of these tanks to make them appropriate for work, and you can also add any sort of accessories to change the look of the top. It’s so versatile and at only $30, it’s worth buying in multiple colors. Unfortunately the yellow/chartreuse color I’m wearing here isn’t available anymore, but there are so many pretty shades of blue, green, white, and even red that would be just as fun!
Thanks for stopping by! Do you have a go-to piece that you always reach for in your closet?
