Today’s look is one I am so excited about because it was photographed at the coolest location in Austin last weekend! Drew and I were driving around near downtown (we were actually on our way to get donuts :)) when we happened to stumble upon Graffiti Park, also known as Hope Outdoor Gallery. Having gone to college in Austin, living there post-grad, and now visiting on a monthly basis, I had heard about this place before but never had a chance to visit (for some reason I always thought it was down in South Austin!), so I was so excited when we happened to come across it. Basically it is a huge outdoor space full of cement walls that goes up the side of a hill. You can bring your own paint/spray paint and draw, write, or paint whatever you like on any of the walls. There was so amazing artwork that looks like it was done by professionals as well as people’s signatures, amateur art, and everything in between. It’s definitely places like this that make me love Austin even more and miss living there so much!
Today’s look matched the setting perfectly because it is full of color – I recently picked up this dress at Saks Off Fifth (unfortunately it’s not for sale online but it is in stores – the brand is Amanda U) and I love how perfect it is for summer! The bright colored stripes remind me of a kite for some reason and I love how the back has a different color pattern than the front. I paired it with these fun earrings and some wedges – although word to the wise, make sure to wear comfortable shoes when visiting Graffiti Park as it is very hilly/rocky and these wedges were not a smart choice to be wearing! I also wore my go-to white summer handbag with this look – a white bag is a summer essential because it always looks so fresh and clean when paired with bright colors.
If you are in the Austin area, be sure to check out Graffiti Park / Hope Outdoor Gallery! It’s located on the west side of Lamar on Baylor Street between 10th St. & 11th St. Thanks for stopping by!
