With Thanksgiving just one week away (!!!), today’s post is all about how to create colorful and fun flower arrangements for your Thanksgiving table! I always love having fresh flowers around and I believe they are especially necessary for family gatherings & holidays. Read on to find out how I create a simple and chic arrangement that is perfect for a harvest feast:
Supplies: Flowers of your choice, Vases of varying sizes/shapes, Scissors, Water (Yankee Spiced Pumpkin Candle is optional!). I decided to use one large vase for my centerpiece and two smaller, square/rectangle vases for smaller side arrangements.
A little mood music!
For my arrangement, I decided to go with yellow roses, burgundy & orange chrysanthemums, and a mixed bouquet that included lilies, daisies, and mini roses. If you have a Trader Joe’s in your area, I highly recommend checking them out for flowers as they always have a large selection at a great price and their flowers always seem to be healthier and last longer than other places!
Step 1: Sort your flowers so you can figure out which ones you want in which vase.
Step 2: Cut your flowers down to size so they fit in the vase.
Step 3: Keep adding flowers until you are happy with the fullness of the arrangement. Sometimes you may have to go back and trim some of the stems a little shorter so that everything fits in the vase how you want it.
Step 4: Add water (don’t forget to add in the little nutrition packs that come with the flowers too!).
Step 5: Repeat for other vases. I wanted to make my two side arrangements identical so I chose to put yellow roses with one orange & one burgundy chrysanthemum in each.
We have a sleepy little photo-bomber in the oven reflection!
For the larger centerpiece vase, I made sure to cut my flowers at varying heights to create dimension in the arrangement.
Fluff & arrange the flowers as needed.
Don’t forget to add your water!
Et Voilà! A simple and colorful flower arrangement that is perfect for your Thanksgiving Day feast! The best part about this type of arrangement is that you can mix and match your favorite types of flowers as well as using various sizes of vases to make the arrangements a little more dynamic. There’s no “wrong way” of creating an arrangement like this so just have fun with it!
